College vs The Trades

“If you want to be successful in life then you need to go to college and get a degree.” This is the message that was always taught to me back in high school. But is it true? Are there any other career paths worth looking into that don’t involve getting a college degree?

In this video I talk about why going through an apprenticeship with one of the trades is a career path that’s definitely worth looking into. While explaining my journey to eventually joining an electrician apprenticeship with IBEW Local 48, I highlight the reasons why I believe that apprenticeships are basically golden opportunities that are hidden in plain sight.

It’s a tragic disservice that these apprenticeship programs aren’t regularly being presented to high school students as good and viable career paths. This video is really my attempt to spread more awareness about these golden opportunities and hopefully encourage anyone thinking about what they want to do with the rest of their life to consider them.
